It is an official legal document granted by Vietnam Immigration Department, that will permit you to enter and exit Vietnam. With the "Pre Approval Letter" you can board the Plane (check-in) without having official Vietnam Visa in hand. However, upon arrival at Vietnam International Airport you must line up and obtain your official Vietnam Visa and subject to stamp fee . This is an alternative way to obtain your official Vietnam Visa On Arrival or also called VOA) upon your arrival at Vietnam International airport (Hochiminh Airport - SGN, Danang Airport - DAD, Hanoi Airport - HAN), you must arrive by plane only. However, in order to be granted the Vietnam Visa On Arrival at the aforementioned airports you need to have your "Pre Approval Letter" ready. Please visit our website and submit your application for Pre Approval Letter. Obtaining the official Vietnam Visa at airport is subject to a stamping fee which depends on your length of stay in Vietnam such as 1 month, 3 months or 6 months - Tourist/Business. This is a fee charged by the Vietnam Government for issuing you the Visa (refer to service fee chart)

How Do I Receive My "Pre-Approval Letter" for Visa On Arrival (VOA) ?
Vietnam Immigration Department will review your application and issue you a "Pre-Approval Letter". We will forward you the "Pre Approval Letter" by email. All you need to do is just to Print It Out (Color or Black/White is acceptable), and carry it with you to the airport.
Please note that Airport Check-in Staff will NOT accept "Pre-Approval Letter" by viewing it on Mobile devices such as (iPhone, Android, or BlackBerry..) The file will be saved as JPEG or PDF format in the email.
Are There Any Restrictions For Using "Pre-Approval Letter" for Visa On Arrival?
With the "Pre-Approval Letter", it is only valid to obtain official Vietnam Visa upon arriving at any Vietnam International Airport. You must be arriving by plane only. If you are arriving by Cruise ship or Land, you must obtain official Vietnam Visa prior to your arrival. You can obtain official Vietnam Visa by applying for the Paper Visa. It is your responsibility to provide all your information accurately as shown on your passport. You could be denied boarding the plane if information on your approval letter and your passport do not match.

Do I Need To Email a Copy Of My Passport When Applying for the "Pre Approval Letter" for Visa On Arrival?
You are NOT required to send a copy of your passport. However, It is your discretion to provide us copy of your passport for accuracy. In case you have input any of your personal information incorrectly by mistake, we will correct it for you accordingly.
Do I Need A Photo If applying for the "Pre Approval Letter'?
You are required to have 2 photos 4x6cm in hand, upon arrival at Vietnam International Airport. You will need to fill out a form with these 2 photos to get official Vietnam Visa On Arrival.
What Is the minimum validity period for My Passport?
Your passport must be at least valid for 6 months on the date you travel to Vietnam. You must leave Vietnam 1 month before your passport expires.
Should I Provide You with the Exact Date of My Arrival?
It is Not necessary to provide your arrival date or Flight number. However, If you apply for Fast Track Service, We need all information such as arrival date and flight no. How many days in Advance Should I Apply for Vietnam Visa or "Pre-Approval Letter" for Visa On Arrival?
Vietnam Immigration Department can accept your application for Vietnam Visa or Pre Approval Letter for (VOA) as early as one year prior to your travel date. We recommend that you apply for your Vietnam Visa or Pre Approval Letter for (VOA) at least 1-2 weeks prior to your travel date to avoid any extra service fee for Urgent processing.
What Are the Procedures At Vietnam International Airport for Visa On Arrival?
On arriving at any Vietnam International Airport, please have your "Pre Approval Letter" handy and fill out the form (just your personal information and others basic information) with 2 photo 4x6cm, now you can proceed to Landing Visa Office to get your official Vietnam Visa. Vietnam Visa fee also known as stamping fee varies according to your length of stay (estimated 45USD,65USD,95USD). Please Note only USD or VND cash is accepted at Airport. Credit Cards are not Accepted.
Which Are the International Airports In Vietnam?

Other Airports you might see on your itinerary are considered local airports. You must arrive at an International airport first and go through immigration/customs inspection. If you need to transfer to local airports, luggage must be claimed and checked in again before you board the connecting flights.

Will I get a Refund if the application is denied?
Yes, you will get full Refund back if your application is denied by Vietnam Immigration Department only. Refund will be credited back to the same methods and Credit Card Number as you have paid originally, within 5-7 business days.
If you change your travel plan after the application has been submitted, there will not be a refund.

What is difference between Visa on arrival and Paper Visa?

Paper Visa is the full Visa you can obtain from the Vietnam Embassy. If your travel date to Vietnam is more than 1 week and you want the peace of mind of having the Vietnam Visa ready before arrival to Vietnam, you are recommended to choose this service. It is a more convenient option to have the full Visa ahead of time. If you are travelling to Vietnam via cruise ship or land, you are required to obtain the Paper Visa. You may submit your application with a photocopy of your passport online. We will then handle the application process with the Vietnam Embassy. On completion, you will receive the Visa stamp issued by the Vietnam Embassy in your mail within 1 week (Click Here for a sample of Visa Stamp). If you live in major cities, the delivery time will even be faster. In U.S. and Canada, the Visa should arrive in your mail in 3 days. It may take slightly longer delivery time for small towns. What Documents Do I Need to Submit When Applying for Paper Visa?

To Apply For the Paper Visa, you must provide the following items:

  1. A copy of your passport (Via Email), refer color copy (Click Here for Sample)
  2. 1 Photo of standard passport size (4x6cm) Refer to the Picture with white background. (Click Here for Sample)
  3. Your arrival Date and departure Date.

* You can just use your iPhone or regular camera to take picture. No need to go to photo shop for this service, As long as your new picture and your passport photo look alike.

How long must my passport be valid to travel to Vietnam?
Your passport must have minimum 6 months validity on the date you travel to Vietnam. You must leave Vietnam 1 month before your passport expires.
How Long Do I have to Wait to Receive My Paper Visa in The Mail?

Normal Processing: 4-7 Business Days ( Canada / United State / Europe)

Urgent Processing: 2-4 Business Days ( Canada / United State / Europe)

Other Countries and Continent Normal Processing time: 5-10 Business day.

How Long In Advance Should I Apply for Paper Visa?
Vietnam Embassy can accept your application for Vietnam Visa as early as one year before your travel date. However, We recommend that you apply for your Vietnam Visa at your earliest convenience (at least 1-2 weeks prior to your travel date), just in case courier may need extra time for delivery due to unexpected weather or traffic conditions.
Can I Change my travel date after I receive My Paper Visa?

Yes, You can. If you decide to change your travel date to a later date from your original date, your new travel date must be within the time frame of the Validity of your Visa.

If you decide to change your travel date to an earlier date, please contact us as we will need to request the Vietnam Embassy to correct it on the system and will send you a letter of correction via Email ($45 fee will apply). The letter of correction should accompany the Visa when you travel.
